You can use the Post Purchase and Product Referral extension without Shopify Plus.The “Been referred by a friend?” experience cannot be added to the Shopify Checkout without Shopify Plus. If you are not a Shopify Plus client, use the standard Referee Integration on a page earlier in your checkout, such as a Cart page or slide-out cart.
Shopify Web Pixels cannot display any UI to the customer. They can only send analytics events to third parties. UI such as the “Been referred by a friend?” experience pre-purchase, or the referral promotion post-purchase, cannot be added using Web Pixels.You could theoretically use Shopify Web Pixels for order tracking, but not for promotion. As promoting at the point of delight (i.e. post purchase) is the most important promotion point, use the Mention Me Shopify App instead.
Yes. You can install and configure the app before upgrading. The app won’t do anything until you go live with Checkout Extensibility in Shopify.You must keep the Referrer tag in additional scripts until you upgrade Checkout Extensibility on your Post Purchase page.
No. Shopify does not allow popups unless a user clicks a button or link first. Their alternative is the “Announcement” banner. The Mention Me Shopify App supports the Announcement — follow our integration instructions to set it up.Read more in Shopify’s documentation.
No. For Landing Pages or adding the Referee journey earlier in your checkout (like a side cart), use the standard Mention Me Tag integration via our legacy tags guide.
