A brand referral campaign is the classic referral programme: a customer recommends your brand to a friend, the friend buys, and both sides are rewarded. It has a full journey to design and a wide set of things to configure, each covered on its own page below. Brand referral campaigns live on Campaigns > Brand referral campaigns. You can run many of them in parallel in the same locale, each targeting a different segment. For how they compare with product referral, see the campaigns overview.

The Nodes on the Canvas

Open a version and you get seven nodes, in this order top to bottom.

Trigger

When the campaign runs, who is eligible, and which purchases qualify.

Branding

Colours, fonts, corner style, the theme, and how the offer is displayed.

Images

Hero images and email imagery, with per-step overrides.

Rewards

What the referrer and the referee receive, and how it reaches them.

Sharing

The sharing options referrers can use, set per device.

Referrer and Referee Copy

The pages, emails and wording each side of a referral sees.
The Trigger sits at the top because it decides who enters the journey. It is campaign-scoped: it applies to every version, so you edit it on the live version rather than on a draft. See the campaign editor.

Campaign-Level Settings

These sit behind the Settings control at the top of the campaign page, and apply to the whole campaign rather than one version.

Campaign settings

Destination URLs, the reply-to address, purchase details and advanced options.

Fraud controls

Approval rules, auto-decline rules and the fraud score weights behind them.

Testing and Optimising

A/B testing is a brand referral feature. Split a version into two variants, send traffic to both, and let the winner roll out.

How A/B tests work

Variants, test metrics, and how a test concludes.

A/B testing best practices

What to test first, and how to get a trustworthy read.

The Shared Parts

Everything about the lifecycle is shared with product referral and documented once:

Campaigns, versions and promotions

The model, and the statuses a version moves through.

Set up a version

Create a version and configure it.

Launch a version

Go live, queue, or schedule a promotion.

Monitor a live version

Performance and recommendations in the insights panel.
