Create a Recharge API token with the right scopes and connect it in Settings > Integrations.
Recharge is a card in the Reward automation section of Settings > Integrations, alongside GiftCloud, Love2shop, SAP Commerce Cloud, Runa, and Fanatics. Unlike those, it takes a single access token rather than a per-connection dialog. For the field itself, see the Recharge tab on How to Connect a Reward Automation Provider.
When a referrer earns a reward, Mention Me creates the Shopify discount code as normal, then pushes it into Recharge automatically, provided the reward has duplication to Recharge switched on. The referrer redeems it in their Recharge customer portal, against an existing subscription.Referee (and IFA) rewards are never pushed to Recharge. Referees redeem their discount at Shopify checkout as normal.
Recharge needs a connected Shopify store with Shopify-managed-rewards write access. Without one, referrer codes still need manual import into Recharge, connecting still works, but a warning is shown on the card.
Go to Settings > Integrations and find the Recharge card in the Reward automation section.
2
Create a Recharge API Token
In the Recharge Portal, go to Tools & apps > API tokens and create a token with Read and Write access to Discounts (read_discounts and write_discounts). See Recharge’s own guide: Recharge API token.
The Discounts scope, with read_discounts and write_discounts checked.
3
Paste the Access Token
Back in Mention Me, click Connect, then paste the Recharge access token.
4
Confirm Connected
The card shows Connected, with the date and who connected it. It never shows the token itself.
Both of these must be true on the reward, or nothing pushes: Duplicate to Recharge is switched on, and the purchase type includes subscription orders. The default purchase type is one-time purchase only, so switching on the toggle alone is not enough.
Referrer rewards only. Referee and IFA rewards never sync.
The code is a genuine Shopify discount code. It’s applied via the customer’s Recharge portal against their subscription, not entered separately at Shopify checkout.
Check the token was copied in full from Recharge, with no leading or trailing spaces, and hasn’t been revoked on the Recharge side. Also check it has Read and Write access to Discounts - a token scoped to another resource, or Read-only, is rejected.
The card shows a warning about Shopify
No connected Shopify store has Shopify-managed-rewards write access yet. See Shopify-managed rewards. Connecting still works, but codes need manual import into Recharge until this is set up.
A code isn't appearing in Recharge
Check the reward has both Duplicate to Recharge switched on and a purchase type that includes subscription orders - the toggle alone does not push a code if the discount is still one-time purchase only. If both are set, surfacing a failed push isn’t built yet, so a stuck push is currently silent. Submit a support request if a referrer reports a missing code.
