Everything you configure in Mention Me hangs off one hierarchy. Your programme is your overall referral scheme; it contains campaigns, each campaign contains versions, and each version presents one or more offers to your customers. Knowing which level a setting lives at tells you where to change it and who the change affects.

The Four Levels

Programme

Your programme is the umbrella: everything Mention Me runs for your brand. Branding, default copy and integrations are programme-level, which is why they live in Settings rather than inside a campaign.

Campaign

A campaign is a per-locale container for one referral configuration. A locale combines language, country and currency, and each campaign runs in exactly one, so a brand active in the UK and France typically runs at least two campaigns. The campaign owns audience and qualifying-purchase rules, and holds an ordered series of versions. A campaign can be draft, live or paused.

Version

A version is a dated iteration of a campaign’s setup: its journey content, rewards, sharing options and branding. One version is live at a time, and moving to the next version ends the current one. This is what makes versions the unit of iteration: to change what customers see, you create a new version, edit it as a draft, and launch it.

Offer

An offer is the customer-facing proposition inside a version: the journey content, the referrer and referee rewards, the sharing options and the branding a customer actually experiences. A standard version carries one offer. In an A/B test, each offer is one arm of the test.

Promotions

A promotion is a time-boxed version: it carries a required start date, an end date, and a last date for a referee’s purchase to qualify. It behaves like any other version in every other respect. Use one for a seasonal boost that should switch itself off, and extend its dates while it is live if it needs longer.
