Overview

The most direct way to integrate Mention Me is by placing our JavaScript tags straight into your page HTML - no tag manager or platform-specific plugin required. This works on any website, regardless of what your site is built with. A typical referral programme needs four touchpoints. Work through them in order:
1

Referrer tag

Add to your order confirmation page to promote the referral programme and track conversions from existing customers.Set up the Referrer tag →
2

Referee tag

Add to your checkout page so referred friends can enter their friend’s name and claim their reward.Set up the Referee tag →
3

Landing page tag

Create a dedicated page for email and social campaigns to drive existing customers into the programme.Set up the Landing page tag →
4

Dashboard tag (optional)

Add to your customer account area so referrers can track their referral status and rewards.Set up the Dashboard tag →
Already tracking product-level shares? Product Referral is a fifth, optional touchpoint you can add to product pages.

Before You Start

Each tag is a single <script> snippet plus (for most tags) a placeholder <div id="mmWrapper"></div> where the content renders. There are two host environments:

Demo

tag-demo.mention-me.com - use while building and testing your integration. Nothing here affects live reporting.

Live

tag.mention-me.com - switch to this host only once you’ve tested end-to-end and are ready to go live.
The most common launch-day mistake is leaving the demo host in a live snippet (or vice versa). Double check before you switch environments.

Using a Tag Manager Instead

If you’d rather deploy and manage these tags through Google Tag Manager or another tag container, see Tag Containers instead - the underlying tags are identical, only the deployment method differs.
