# Password Rules

> Password complexity requirements for accessing the Mention Me platform.

Mention Me strongly advises using a password manager for the password(s) used to access your dashboard.

## Requirements

Passwords must be at least ten characters and contain at least one character from each of these groups:

* English uppercase characters (A-Z)
* English lowercase characters (a-z)
* Base 10 digits (0-9)
* Non-alphanumeric characters: `! " $ % ^ & * ( ) - _ = + [ ] { } ; : ' @ # ~ , < . > / ? \ |`

## Best practices

In the absence of a password manager, passwords should follow best practices:

* Avoid common terms or words (e.g. birthdays, job titles, company names, addresses).
* Use a collection of words rather than a single phrase.
