# Set Up Attentive with Mention Me

> Connect your Attentive account to Mention Me to sync referral data and enable SMS-powered advocacy.

## About the integration

SMS amplifies referral performance and improves the customer experience. Engage your best customers with personalised text messages to drive brand advocacy, increase ROI, and boost long-term revenue.

## Integration capabilities

* Grow your contact database by sending real-time email marketing opt-ins to Attentive
* Enhance referral data for personalised SMS campaigns and coupon reminders
* Improve your segmentation with first-party referral and advocacy data

## Prerequisites

* **Attentive** — Request a unique `signUpSourceId` for Mention Me from Attentive. Contact your Attentive CSM or email [whiteglove@attentivemobile.com](mailto:whiteglove@attentivemobile.com).

<Note>A new signUpSourceId must be requested. Do not reuse an existing ID.</Note>

* **Attentive login** — Credentials for the [Attentive platform](https://ui.attentivemobile.com/signin). Make sure you're logged into the correct account if you manage multiple environments.
* **Mention Me** — Access to the [Mention Me platform](https://mention-me.com/login) or request it from your CSM.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Log into Attentive">
    Sign into your [Attentive account](https://ui.attentivemobile.com/subscribers/sign-up-units) and navigate to Sign-up Units. Look for the Mention Me entry and note the ID.

    If it hasn't been created, request it from Attentive.

  <Step title="Log into Mention Me">
    Navigate to [Mention Me Integrations](https://mention-me.com/merchant/~/integrations/attentive) and click **Connect**.

  <Step title="Agree to terms">
    If prompted, agree to allow Mention Me to send data to Attentive. If already accepted, this step is skipped.

  <Step title="Enter your signUpSourceId">
    Enter the 6-digit numeric ID you retrieved in Step 1, then click **Next**.

  <Step title="Connect your Attentive account">
    1. Create a new authentication and name your connection (recommended if you manage multiple Attentive accounts).

    2. Log in with your Attentive credentials (if not already logged in).

    <Note>Ensure you're logged into the correct Attentive account based on the country or brand you're integrating (e.g., US vs. UK).</Note>

    3. Grant Mention Me permission to access your Attentive account.

  <Step title="Select countries to sync">
    Select the country/countries you want to sync contact data from.

    <Note>You can limit data sync to specific regions depending on your Mention Me country-enabled setup.</Note>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Finalise the installation">
    Click **Finish** to complete the setup. A success message will appear to confirm integration is active.

    Mention Me events and contacts will begin syncing to your Attentive account, allowing you to create SMS journeys immediately. If you need support, reach out to your CSM.

### Multiple account setup (optional)

To connect to additional Attentive accounts (e.g., UK, US), click **Connect Another Account** and repeat the steps above.
