# How to Upload Your Customers

> Share your existing customer list during onboarding so those people are not treated as new referees.

The **Upload your customers** step shares your existing customer list with Mention Me so those people do not get referral invites as if they were new. It sits on the launch checklist after you [prepare to launch](/knowledge-app/onboarding/prepare-to-launch).

    On the [Onboarding Hub](/knowledge-app/onboarding/overview), click **Upload your customers**.

  <Step title="Prepare a CSV">
    Use a CSV with headers in the first row, under 1GB. Mention Me maps your columns in the wizard, so the names do not have to match ours.

    If you are on Shopify, you may also be offered a store backfill instead of a file.

    Work through the upload flow. A successful upload with at least one imported row marks the hub step complete.

You can skip this step if you are not ready. Skipping lets you continue the checklist. You can still upload later from **Settings > Uploads**.
