# Understanding Setup Before Launch

> Why nothing customer-facing is live while you work through the Onboarding Hub, and what you can do before you prepare to launch.

The Onboarding Hub is there so you can finish the programme before anyone sees it. The page title is **Get your referral programme live**, and the line under it is the rule: nothing goes live until you say so.

During **Set up your programme** you can configure branding, draft a campaign and install tracking. Referrers cannot share a live offer yet, and the **Launch** button in the campaign editor stays unavailable. It asks you to finish setting up your programme first.

## What You Can Do During Setup

* Make the journeys look like your brand
* Draft the campaign you will launch later
* Install tracking so Mention Me can see test fires
* Assign steps to teammates

You do not need to finish every campaign section before you move on. Come back to the draft from **Campaigns** whenever you like.

## What Waits Until Later

Voucher uploads and campaign launch sit on the **Launch checklist**. That stage stays locked until you [prepare to launch](/knowledge-app/onboarding/prepare-to-launch). Preparing to launch does not show an offer to customers. It opens the remaining checklist so you can finish tracking, customers and rewards, then [activate the campaign](/knowledge-app/onboarding/activate-your-first-campaign).
